ABOUT US

A podcast network made

by shes and theys.

For everyone.

Period is for everyone.  Period is often a word spoken in hushed tones. And whether you are a person who experiences periods or not, we want you to experience Period with us. For us, a period is a defining punctuation. It owns itself, confident and unapologetic. Periods can be painful, like a punch in the gut. Periods are a statement. This network is about letting women and nonbinary people be heard.  It is about taking the hush, the doubt, the fears that women and nonbinary people experience, and turning towards

an age of boldness, confidence, and bravery. Ultimately, Period is simple. It's a podcast network hosted, produced, and engineered by women and nonbinary people. Our goal is to educate, enlighten, and enliven our listeners. The programs cover diverse topics and we will continue to build until there's nothing that can't be learned by listening to us and with us.

Do you have a voice you want to share? Period is here for you.

We are an affiliate of Starburns Industries and operate out of their Burbank recording studio. This podcasting network would not exist were it not for the belief and good will of Jason Smith, head of Starburns Audio. Our parent company provides us with the fundamental support of an established media institution: promotion, legal, advertisers, hosting, graphic design, and a well of quality guests from which our programming can draw.

All content is curated and produced by founder Makenzie Mizell. Makenzie has a background of  10+ years audio experience which includes her role as producer & operations manager for the now defunct Meltdown Network (RIP). She's currently studying sociology with a focus on gender studies and has been a feminist since the Spice Girls taught her the meaning of "Girl Power."
